Pablo Torre is one of the youngsters that FC Barcelona has sent on loan for the upcoming season. This loan is aimed at providing the youngster with first-division experience while playing for a Girona side that offers him easy opportunities to start matches and does not involve the same pressure as playing at FC Barcelona does.
However, Torre has had a bit of a rocky start to this loan stint as he was injured in the pre-season friendly against Blackburn Rovers.
The medical tests undertaken on the player show that this injury is not a serious one and he is suffering only from a contusion as per a recent report from SPORT. This diagnosis, while relieving both for the player and the club, is one that was already being expected, as it was known that the player was suffering from pain because of a blow to the vastus near the knee.
Pablo Torre is looking to learn as much as he can and showcase his skills with this Girona loan, and his appearance against Sheffield United, in the match prior to the Blackburn Rovers one, was particularly impressive as he scored a great goal.
The fact that the player had difficulty playing after he was tackled and received a blow to the knee had raised some alarm bells earlier. However, as more information came out after tests carried out on him, it became clear that the injury is not serious.
Thus, while Torre will have to be inactive for a few days, he will not be sidelined for a lengthy period. Still, a date for his return has not been given, and his recovery will be determined by how his leg develops in the coming days.
Girona will be hoping he gains full fitness in the coming days as they will be facing the Italian champions, Napoli, on Sunday, before hosting Lazio in Montilivi after the Napoli match.
