FC Barcelona already possesses a squad full of great talents battling it out to allow themselves to be prominent. While some of these stars continue to impress, others continue to struggle in terms of catching the coach’s eye.
However, there are also those that are seen as being better off away from the club. Such players are often sent on loan if the club deems that they could hold potential value for various reasons. One such player was Ansu Fati.
Fati impresses with Brighton
Currently on loan at Premier League side Brighton, the Spanish forward had a lot of hurdles to overcome. Out of favor at Barcelona, he was determined to prove his worth even if it meant going away from Spain.
Now, in his latest fixture for Brighton, as per SPORT, the player has reconfirmed his status as an elite footballer. Already having had an impressive start to life in England, the player has especially exploded in the Europa League.
Goal and assist against Ajax
In their latest fixture within the secondary European competition, Brighton faced off against Dutch side Ajax. Ultimately, the English side emerged as 2-0 victors. Moreover, Ansu Fati was a player that was crucial to both goals.
The first goal was scored by the Spaniard himself in the 15th minute of the game. Fati did well to shield the ball away from his marker and then finish off a low shot past the keeper. However, that would not be his only goal contribution of the game.
In the second half, he would return the favor to Simon Adingra, the player who assisted Fati’s opener. Sliding away from the center of the frontline and dispatching a delicate pass to Adingra, Fati’s teammate did not let him down. With the score at 2-0 and Brighton being at ease, Fati was later substituted at the 65th-minute mark.
More opportunities for Barcelona
All in all, this marks an exciting development for FC Barcelona as well. Their loanee has now scored 4 goals for Brighton across all competitions. Currently valued at €35 million, Barça will be happy to see their youngster’s performances flourish and open up more possibilities to assess his future.
