In the last summer transfer window, FC Barcelona sent eight of its players out on loans, and as the current season is coming to its conclusion most of these players are likely to return to the Catalan club this summer.

Chadi Riad and Sergino Dest are the only two players who are likely to stay at their loaning clubs beyond this summer, as they have been performing at a good level.

On the other hand, Ansu Fati, Clement Lenglet, Eric Garcia, Pablo Torre, Julian Araujo, and Alex Valle all have their futures highly uncertain at the moment.

Among these six players, the youngster Pablo Torre warrants some attention, as he is still only 20 years of age, and was expected to reach great heights when he signed for FC Barcelona from Racing Santander in 2022.

He left Barcelona to join Girona at the start of this season, but as SPORT has noted, he has not been able to get the minutes he or his parent club would have wanted.

He has accumulated only 577 minutes in La Liga with 20 appearances and has recorded two assists in this time. Torre has another 3 appearances in the Copa del Rey, where he scored one goal in the 113 minutes on the pitch afforded to him by Michel.

Meanwhile, the Blaugranes continue to see him as a bet for the future, but are clear that several factors will determine the course of his future and no decision can be made at this point in time.

Two of these factors will be the preferences of the coach that succeeds Xavi at Barcelona and Torre’s own performances in the upcoming pre-season.

With Barcelona counting on Torre as a bet for the future, but facing FFP problems, the one way forward remains to send him on another loan this summer, where he can get more minutes and come back to the Catalan club with a stronger claim for a position in the first-team squad.
