Although the top priorities of Barcelona for the upcoming transfer window are to sign some of the most proven players in European football, like Bernardo Silva and Joshua Kimmich, they are still also constantly combing the market for young players who show the potential to grow to a high degree in the coming years.

In this regard, there have been several players linked with the Catalan club from South America and Europe. Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, the latest player to enter this list of youngsters being followed by Barcelona is a winger from Ligue 1, Desire Doue, the 18-year-old who is currently playing for Rennes.

The youngster has been playing at a very high level with the French side this season, and in addition to Barcelona, has also attracted the interest of other big sides across Europe, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, and Atletico Madrid.

However, getting him from Rennes will not be easy as he is currently valued at €20 million and has a contract till 2026. In his second season at Rennes, the player has accumulated as many as 40 appearances, having scored 4 goals and provided 5 assists.

These performances have also been recognized by the Ligue 1 authorities, as he has been named as one of the five candidates for the best young player in the league for this season, along with the likes of Rayan Cherki, Leny Yoro, Warren Zaire-Emery, and Eliesse Ben Seghir.

It needs to be remembered here that this is not the first time that Barcelona have been linked with the player. In fact, Doue had been spotted watching a game between the Catalan club and Atletico Madrid live last season, where his agent, Mikael Silvestre, was also present, while his visit to Catalonia had caused a considerable stir at that time as well.
