The current season has been a difficult one for FC Barcelona as the Catalan team has faced problems with maintaining its form for the most part of the ongoing Campaign. However, the last few weeks have been better as Xavi has been able to turn around the team’s form to a considerable extent.

Several factors have been outlined in the media and by Xavi himself on why the team’s results have improved significantly in these weeks, but one of the most prominent of these factors is the good vein of form being shown by Robert Lewandowski.

The Pole is the leader of the attack for the Catalan club, and one of the most celebrated strikers in Europe. However, he has been linked with a move away from the club in recent times, especially as some Saudi clubs have been pushing for his signing.

Lewandowski himself has suffered from poor form for a significant portion of this season, and earlier, the club was open to parting ways with him. However, SPORT now reports that his return to good form has made Barcelona reconsider their position as they now want to continue working with the Pole, and the striker himself has no intention of leaving.

Barcelona believe that Lewandowski’s exit at this point in time will only harm the club, as Vitor Roque is still not ready to play on a regular basis against top European teams, and the Catalans would not be able to get a striker of Lewandowski’s quality from the market either, especially with their weak finances.

The Pole has scored 13 goals and given 8 assists in La Liga so far this season, and the Catalans rely a lot on his qualities, especially on the goal-scoring front. He is also physically 100%, despite being 35 years of age, and playing continuously throughout the season.

By keeping him, for at least another year, Barcelona want a more smooth transition from the veteran to the youngster Vitor Roque in 2025. Another dream of the Barcelona President is to bring Erling Haaland to succeed Lewandowski, and hopefully, circumstances would have improved to allow for such a possibility by next year.
