Vitor Roque was the only addition made to the FC Barcelona squad in the last winter transfer window, as he came to the club after having signed with the Blaugranes in the summer of 2023.
The Brazilian came with very high expectations at the club, as despite his youth, it was believed at that time that he would be able to make an instant impact on the team and help the club with its lack of accuracy in front of the goal.
However, he has not been able to feature much for Barcelona on the pitch for various reasons. Firstly, he came right after recovering from a serious injury and thus had no game rhythm as he made the leap from Brazil to Spain.
Similarly, the team was also going through a difficult moment as he tried to gel into the team, which also did not give Xavi the margin to allow him much game time. Still, SPORT reports that Roque is not considering leaving the club, even on a temporary loan.
The Brazilian understands that he should ideally have arrived at the club only this summer, and thus is only going through a period of adaptation. He will be going through his first pre-season with the team this summer, which will help his adaptation immensely.
Xavi’s continuity further motivates him to stay in Barcelona, as he receives a significant degree of support from the head coach and his staff. Instead of being reproachful towards Xavi for a lack of minutes, he understands the situation and is giving his all in training and waiting for his opportunities.
Similarly, he also values how the Barcelona locker room has received him since his arrival at the club. The players have welcomed him with open arms, and are helping him to get accustomed to a new style of play that is prevalent in Spain.
Thus, Roque is very happy in Barcelona, and is not considering leaving the club even for a temporary period as he believes he is going to take a significant step forward in his adaptation process this summer.
