As Xavi Hernandez has already announced his decision to leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season, the position of the head coach at the Catalan club is up for grabs. Since Xavi’s announcement, news coming out of the club have been filled with speculation on who will succeed the current trainer.

However, there has been less attention paid to what Xavi will do after giving up his responsibilities at Barcelona, and this is a question that should generate significant curiosity among the club’s fans as Xavi is not only the club’s current head coach but also one of the biggest legends to play for the Blaugranes.

One scenario that has gained some traction in the last few weeks, especially since the results have improved for the team, is that Xavi will take back his decision, and remain the coach for the upcoming season as well.

But there is another scenario in which Xavi can remain at the club while not retaining his current position. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Barcelona are preparing a new position at the club, that of the ambassador of the Barca Foundation, which will be offered to Xavi Hernandez.

This appointment will be made public in the coming weeks with a public presentation of Xavi in his new role. The main purpose of this appointment will be to make Xavi feel valued at the club, which can also influence him to change his mind about his continuity on the Barcelona bench.

While this will be a good piece of news for fans who hold Xavi in high regard for his services and association with the club, more concrete news might have to come out of the club before it can be believed.

Xavi himself admitted while announcing his decision to leave the club that he is mentally fatigued, and if that is actually the case, the position of an ambassador would be good enough for him to remain associated with his beloved club without having to face the extraordinary pressure that a Barcelona head-coach has to face.
