FC Barcelona are just one of the European clubs invested in ensuring that they continue to hunt the most promising talents. La Blaugrana have always had a knack for identifying good talents and then recruiting them timely. However, not every player that Barcelona follows turns out to be worth the hassle.

One player who, at least on the field, definitely has the quality to his game is Paris Brunner. A 17-year-old German forward, he was part of the Under-17 Germany side that won the World Cup of that same category. Interestingly, Barcelona wonderkid Noah Darvich was captain of the very same team.

However, Brunner himself is no ordinary talent. The German prodigy already has the best player of the tournament awards for both the U-17 World Cup and U-17 European Championship to his name. His quality far exceeds that of others his age, and he already is engaged with Borussia Dortmund.

On the other hand, however, his conduct has not been too promising. As highlighted by SPORT, the German is already quite the problematic character. After breaking a curfew set for the Under-18 players, even the forward’s parents were called to the side’s offices.

Despite possessing such immaculate footballing capabilities, Brunner was involved with fellow teammate Cole Campbell in jeopardizing his own progression. Due to this incident, both talented youngsters were left behind when Borussia Dortmund played a friendly against Standard de Liege.

Worryingly, however, this was not even the first time that Brunner has caused disciplinary issues. In October, he has already been previously suspended by Dortmund for a couple of weeks. For now, however, it seems that they will likely return to the Under-19 squad sooner rather than later.

As for Barcelona, perhaps they may want to remain vigilant about Brunner’s progression. Irrespective of how talented he may be, the Catalan club surely does not want to take on a great disciplinary responsibility as well. For Barcelona, talent must come alongside the right ethics and drive to succeed.
