The victory that FC Barcelona got over Real Betis in their last La Liga match was a much-needed result for the Catalans. Dropping points in this match would not only have made it very difficult for Xavi’s men to recover the gap with league leaders, Girona, but also would have further eroded the team’s morale after the crushing defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final.

As already reported here, the 2-4 victory over Real Betis has helped the Barcelona locker room recover its spirits. The fact that Barcelona had to suffer but still got the victory in the last minutes of the game has reinstated the will to keep fighting for everything till the last minute in the squad.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, one Barcelona player, Pedri, also shared this positive turn of spirits in the locker room with his followers through a social media post, in which he showed his confidence in the team’s abilities to keep fighting for all the possible titles:

“We’re still going to cause a lot of trouble, no doubt about it. Returning home with three big points and a lot of enthusiasm for the Copa del Rey. We continue!”

Pedri was one of the main contributors to the Barcelona victory last night, as he gave the assist for Ferran Torres’ first goal. Pedri also remembered this moment in his social media post, as he accompanied it with pictures of that play and of him later celebrating a goal with his teammates.

The midfielder will have to continue making such contributions in the future for the team to compete for La Liga and other titles. As his post itself indicated, Barcelona will now be looking to take on Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, and Pedri will once again be a key player for Xavi in this match.
