As FC Barcelona welcome opponents Cadiz CF to the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium for matchday two of the 2023/24 edition of La Liga EA Sports, a lot is at stake for the Catalans to finally get their first win of the official season.

With the game set to start soon, FC Barcelona has released their official starting eleven that Xavi has chosen to field against Cadiz.

Barcelona’s second captain Marc Andre Ter Stegen starts in between the sticks for the Blaugranes as he looks to continue his fine defensive form and keep another clean sheet this time around as well. While he did manage to keep a clean sheet against Getafe, he will be hoping for some goals from his own side this time around.

The defense is comprised of Danish defender Andreas Christensen and Dutch star Frenkie De Jong, who is taking over the center-back position in a surprise decision by Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez.

The fullbacks to start against Cadiz CF are Spanish youngster Alejandro Balde and French defender Jules Kounde.

The midfield comprises of new arrival Oriol Romeu continuing with his duties as the Barcelona pivot. On either side of him in more advanced midfield roles are Spanish midfielder Pedri and German star Ilkay Gundogan.

The front three comprises of youngster Gavi starting on the left wing as a false winger, while the right wing is occupied by 16-year-old winger Lamine Yamal, who takes over from the suspended Raphinha.

Centrally, the attack is spearheaded by Polish talisman Robert Lewandowski, who will be looking to finally add some goals to his tally this season and break away from the rather stunted form that he has been associated with since a few months.
