FC Barcelona test the final stages of their patience as El Clasico comes knocking towards them. Barcelona versus Real Madrid, the clash of the Spanish giants is set to kick off soon.

With the two Clasico rivals only separated by a point in La Liga, this match has massive expectations to fulfill and stakes to fight for.

Both sides come into this game in solid form over their last five games. FC Barcelona have recorded four wins and one draw in their previous five outings.

Similarly, Real Madrid have the exact same record in their own previous appearances of the same number. Xavi Hernandez and Carlo Ancelloti are expected to see their sides clash in a game that will undoubtedly involve tactical trickery.

With close to an hour or so left to kick off, Barcelona have officially announced their starting lineup.

Goalkeeper

Between the Barcelona goal and the forwards of Real Madrid stands Marc Andre Ter Stegen. The German international is Barça’s most experienced player in the current squad when it comes to El Clasicos. La Blaugrana will need their captain to be at his best in order to get the result they want.

Defense

The defense was a big question mark heading into this game. However, all curiosities have now been answered. Alejandro Balde starts as the left-back while Ronald Araujo occupies the right-back slot. The central areas of the defense are covered by Danish defender Andreas Christensen and Spanish veteran Inigo Martinez.

Midfielders

In the midfield, three players take charge. Fermin Lopez continues to have the faith of Xavi following his immense displays in recent games. He is supported by Gavi, who returns to the starting eleven after having been suspended in the UEFA Champions League, and Ilkay Gundogan, with the German veteran featuring in his first-ever El Clasico.

Forwards

The frontline has three forwards spearheading the team. Joao Felix and Ferran Torres continue to start for Barcelona, as both forwards will look to thwart Kepa’s goal. However, they are joined by a surprise addition in attack. Portuguese star Joao Cancelo starts as Barça’s right winger in an experimental position.
