It is nothing new for the Blaugrana faithful and the lovers of the beautiful game when they hear about the dire financial situation looming over the Catalan club currently. Consequently, Barcelona higher-ups are looking to explore avenues for bolstering revenue.

One of the major streams of revenue that could face an alteration under the same objective is the club’s kit manufacturers. Currently, the iconic Blue and Garnet kits are supplied by the prominent athleisure brand Nike, a company that stands as the second-largest in football kit production and sponsorships, trailing only behind Adidas.

However, the landscape could shift in 2028, marking the expiration of the existing contract and presenting an enticing opportunity for alternative brands to align with the Catalan giants. According to SPORT, one such brand expressing significant interest is the renowned German label, Puma.

Puma, once positioned 11th in football kit partnerships, has experienced remarkable market growth, rising to the 3rd spot. The brand boasts partnerships with prestigious clubs like Manchester City, showcasing shared values with FC Barcelona. This alignment makes the Catalan club a prime target for Puma.

This fact is further consolidated by the willingness to make a significant financial commitment to secure a partnership with FC Barcelona. Drawing from their deal with Manchester City in 2019, which initially offered €70 million annually but has since surged to a staggering €167 million, Puma aims to present an irresistible offer to the Blaugranas.

SPORT reports that Puma is prepared to propose a base income of €200 million per year, potentially escalating to an impressive €300 million per year, inclusive of various performance-based variables. Such a deal would position FC Barcelona as the highest-earning club globally from their kit manufacturer.

The only issue as of now is the contract with Nike, whose contract will be running at least till 2026, with an option for the company based in Oregon to extend it for 2 more years.
