It is no secret that certain events have caused FC Barcelona a lot of worry. Most of these worries and problems stem from injury occurrences, which have plagued the club, especially this season. Even in the recent game against Athletic Club, Barcelona suffered once again.

Two of the team’s most crucial and key midfielders were injured against Athletic Club at the San Mames. Both Frenkie De Jong and Pedri had to retreat from the game to receive additional care from the Barcelona medical staff, and the initial look of their injuries seemed to be quite worrying.

Fortunately for Barcelona, recent reports claimed that Pedri’s injury was not as bad as initially thought. While De Jong’s ankle sprain is painful, the concerns over it were minimal. Pedri’s case, on the other hand, drew much more attention and worry due to the regularity of his physical problems.

Now, as highlighted by SPORT, Xavi has himself shared a positive update about Pedri’s muscular injury: “We have done an impeccable job in preventing injuries, but sometimes there are things you can’t control. Pedri’s injury is not as serious as we thought.”

“I hope he can help us soon, but the most important thing is for him to recover well. We shouldn’t worry about whether he will make it to the Clásico in April or not.”

While there were initial worries that the talented Spaniard could be out for the season, it is now looking likely that he could return at some point in April. As noted by Xavi and recent speculation, the Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid is currently the date in mind to see the Golden Boy make his return.

However, patience will be crucial when it comes to Pedri’s case. The Barcelona prodigy has already suffered a lot due to his injuries, and so has the team as a consequence. Moving forward, given that he is seen as one of the future pillars of the team, no unnecessary risks with him should be taken.
