FC Barcelona continues to deal with several young stars from their subsidiary and academy. These talented prospects all have a point to prove, but not everyone gets the chance to. Some end up in the first team, while others have to go elsewhere.

One particular star that showcased a lot of promise in Barcelona Atletic was Estanis Pedrola. Originally seen as a great prospect for the first team, it was ultimately decided that he still needed time. As a result, the 20-year-old winger was loaned away to Italian side Sampdoria.

Impressing in Italy

Currently on loan with the Italian Serie B team, the winger continues to impress. Already having 3 goals to his name, the Barcelona loanee may even compel Sampdoria to keep him for longer. According to the contract signed, the player can be bought by Sampdoria for €3 million if he completes 10 games.

Born Blaugrana

As it stands, the winger has already completed 9 games for Sampdoria. However, in the midst of all this, he has recently spoken out in a radio interview. Staying on the topic of Barcelona, as highlighted by SPORT, he stated that he would love to return to the Blaugrana club:

“Since I was a child, I’ve been a fan of Barça and grew up watching their matches, amazed by Messi. Honestly, if I could return someday, I would love to.”

He also spoke about Bojan Krkic, who is Barça’s Football Area Coordinator, and how they both remain in contact with regular check-ups on Pedrola’s progress and injury:

“I talked to him when I got injured. He texted me, asking how I was. He congratulated me on starting well. He also said he was very happy for me and asked about the injury. I replied with a voice message sharing my feelings and thanking him for the message.”

Focused on Sampdoria

However, the player did add that his current objective lies with Sampdoria. Working hard under Italian legend Andrea Pirlo, Pedrola wants to help his team out first:

“…I am focused on Sampdoria. We’ve had a bit of a rough start, and we have a lot of work ahead. But after the break, I’m sure we’ll be on the rise again.”

Pedrola’s current loan deal is set to expire in the summer of 2024. The player would automatically return to FC Barcelona if Sampdoria end up not purchasing him permanently. Given his current progression, he would be a valuable sale while simultaneously being a great talent to rely upon.
