FC Barcelona could be set to lose one of their most prodigious talents produced within their academy in recent years, one that showed the potential to preserve this club even when it seemed to lack its identity through his own raw talent and ability to amaze.

The player in question, of course, is Ansu Fati, the 20-year-old La Masia sensation who once took the footballing world by storm following his debut with the Barcelona first team. His goals and quick feet were just some of the reasons why fans across the globe began to have faith in a new Barca revolution.

However, things have hardly gone as smoothly as people would have hoped. Constant injuries stalled his progression and even damaged his confidence to an extreme level. With the latest update on his future, it’s been reported that he has asked to leave the club.

According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Ansu Fati has recently asked the club in the last few hours to let him leave, be it on loan. The options currently on the table for him are mainly from the English Premier League.

Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and most recently, Liverpool, are among the teams most interested in taking away the Barcelona prodigy on loan in these final hours of the summer transfer window.

Moreover, fellow La Liga side Sevilla is also reportedly quite interested in the Spaniard and it is reported that the option of the Andalusian side is one that excites the player’s father in particular. He prefers that his son goes on loan to Sevilla, which may keep him engaged with Spanish football before he inevitably returns to Barca.

The case of both Ansu Fati and Moroccan winger Ez Abde remains an open one. Barcelona will choose to decide which of the two, or perhaps even both, will end up leaving the club this summer and which destination provides the best package overall.
