FC Barcelona have always had a strong representation in the various iterations of the Spanish National team. From the World Cup-winning team of 2010 to the recent Nations League triumph, Barcelona have always been a strong presence in Spanish triumphs.
In the latest developments, youngsters like Pedri, Gavi, Lamine Yamal, and Alejandro Balde have been the recent young incorporations from Barcelona into the Spanish National team. However, there may soon be another Barcelona youngster joining them.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, the recent performances of the 20-year-old Barcelona academy gem have not gone unnoticed by the higher-ups representing the Spanish National team.
However, given how stacked the current iteration of the Spanish National team is in regards to their midfield, with several elite players already within the dynamics and Pedri waiting to be integrated once again after his recovery is completed.
First come the Under-21s
The natural progression of the player will see him first enter the Under-21 selection of the Spanish National team where he would fit right in given his current age of 20. Born in 20023, if he does end up getting called up to the selection this would be his first-ever taste of international football with Spain at any level.
Paris 2024
It was due to his time at Linares on loan and during this season with FC Barcelona where he has transitioned into a proper first-team player that Spain has finally noticed his talents and it seems to be only a matter of time before his call-up to the Under-21 scene of Spanish football is finalized with the 2024 Paris Olympic Games also on the horizon.
The Olympic games are set to take place in between July and August of next year in the French capital. With Fermin among those that are most likely to make the Under-21 Spanish team, his participation in the Olympics also seems probable. Moreover, the team that will end up featuring in that particular tournament will see a substantial number of changes given that several former Spanish representatives are now over the eligible age limit.
Thus far, Fermin has proven himself to be capable of being a star within the Barcelona first team. His performance in the latest game against Sevilla was impressive on its own, but even prior to that game he has been worth noting every time he graced the field. The 20-year-old also remains the only La Masia player alongside Gavi this season to have scored for Barca.
