FC Barcelona continue to place incredible faith in Ousmane Dembele, who has one of the most unique profiles in European football. The two-footed phenom joined the Catalans in the summer of 2017 but has been held back time and time again by injuries.
Since Xavi arrived at the helm, Dembele has finally begun to showcase consistency in performances. However, the same muscular ailment that hampered Dembele early in his Blaugrana career forced him out of action for nearly three months and from seventeen games last season.
With aspirations of making amends for these physical limitations, SPORT has come out to report that the Frenchman has continued to work out by himself to build muscle ever since last season concluded.
Dembele’s elevated fitness levels in the past few years have seen him minimize the risk of injuries by a significant margin, but aiming to completely eradicate these recurring setbacks, increased fitness levels can be observed in the Frenchman, which can be attributed to his eagerness to reach a new level physically.
This Monday, July 17, the Frenchman is called to report to the Ciutat Esportiva to begin the Barcelona pre-season. Presented as the ideal opportunity to shake off the rust and showcase his newfangled strengths, Dembele looks forward to repaying Xavi’s confidence in him.
To enter the pre-season in top shape and begin working in top condition, he has also dedicated a lot of time to aerobic activities. Ousmane believes that after winning La Liga, Barcelona can choose to take on more difficult challenges.
Dembele’s contract contains a €50 million release clause that can be activated this summer. Nonetheless, the forward is still keen to stay at Barcelona after delivering great success under Xavi Hernandez’s direction.
