FC Barcelona are a dominant side in the world of football, from achievements to individual players. The Catalan giants boast not just one of the most impressive trophy cabinets in football, but arguably also the finest academy.

Several La Masia graduates have gone on to achieve great things, many for Barcelona and some for others as well.

One of the latest revelations for Barcelona came in the form of young Pablo Gavira. ‘Gavi’ initially broke through into the first team back in the 2021/22 season. His rise to stardom ever since has been nothing short of meteoric and prodigious.

El Clasico prodigies

However, as the media often likes to do, comparisons between promising youngsters are drawn. Gavi, on one hand, and Real Madrid’s latest superstar, Jude Bellingham, are often part of a hotly debated conversation about the finest youngsters in world football.

Gavi edges out his rival

Yet, as SPORT sees it, the Madrid man is still far behind his Barcelona rival in terms of establishing himself. According to the report, the English star is still not nearly as successful in the sport as Gavi already is. This claim is primarily backed by their collective and individual accolades.

Gavi has already won three titles with his club and country. With Barcelona, the player has already won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup, both won last season. Similarly, he has also lifted the UEFA Nations League title with Spain when the country won it this year.

International success

Jude Bellingham, on the other hand, only has one team title in his trophy cabinet so far. Back in Germany with Borussia Dortmund, the English midfielder managed to win the DFB-Pokal in 2021. That remains his only major title within the top European leagues, and he is yet to achieve any silverware with England.

Moreover, even in terms of their goal-scoring tallies internationally, Gavi outshines his opponent. With 5 goals in 25 games for the Spanish National team, Gavi’s tally is superior to that of Bellingham’s 2 for England in 27 appearances.

Individual milestones

On an individual level, despite being a year younger than Bellingham, Gavi has more accolades to his name as well. Having won both the Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy award in 2022, Gavi remains the current holder of both.

While Bellingham seems to be among the favorites to win it this year, Gavi’s achievement still comes at a younger age.

The upcoming El Clasico will be the first encounter between both talented youngsters. Having recently highlighted Bellingham as one of his favorites at Real Madrid, Gavi does showcase a sense of respect between the two rivals.

The stage is set at the Montjuic Stadium for Barcelona and Real Madrid to dish it out. However, it may also pave the way for a new generation of Clasico legends to make their mark.
