In order to sort out their financial issues, FC Barcelona have to offload a number of players. The club has identified several such players that still have significant value in the current market and whose sales would provide the club with a much-needed cash injection.

One such player is Franck Kessie. The Ivorian arrived at FC Barcelona last summer but has not been able to get an established spot in the first team. Still, the player made several important appearances in the last season, and his value in the market remains high.

The 26-year-old midfielder won the Scudetto with AC Milan in his last season at the Milanese club and has extensive experience in the Italian Serie A. As a result, several Italian clubs have been linked with him in the last few months, including Inter Milan, who were interested in a potential swap deal.

Another Italian club that has been linked with Kessie in recent weeks is Juventus. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Old Lady still remains interested in the player, who is a priority target for the Sicilian club. Kessie is not too keen to move to Italy, but Juventus are intending to push their luck in the coming days, and check if he can be convinced of a move.

Meanwhile, Kessie himself wants to stay on at Barcelona. If such an option is not possible, he would rather go to England and try himself in the Premier League. Tottenham have previously been reported to be one of the English clubs vying for his signature.

Kessie was signed by FC Barcelona as a free agent, and any fee they receive for the Ivorian will be a profit for the Catalan club. Furthermore, as he is not an integral part of Xavi’s plans going forward, his sale can be a good piece of business for the Catalan club.
