FC Barcelona have finally managed to conclude the ongoing saga concerning 26-year-French winger Ousmane Dembele as he finally completes his move to Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
Officially announced by FC Barcelona today on their social media accounts and website, the Catalan giants have confirmed that the French winger parts ways with La Blaugrana for a transfer fee that is exactly €50.4 million according to the information provided.
Despite the official announcement having come just today by FC Barcelona, Spanish outlet SPORT has highlighted how the first reactions from the camp of Paris Saint-Germain have already begun to arrive regarding the transfer itself.
The most prominent one is arguably that of PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who has given his own positive statement on the arrival of the now former Barcelona winger and how he has shown commitment to the PSG project as well as his hopes for the 26-year-old, stating:
“We are delighted to welcome Ousmane Dembélé to Paris Saint-Germain, where he will be an important and dedicated player for our club. The passion and determination shown by Ousmane upon joining PSG are fantastic and align with the attitude required from all our players.”
The Paris Saint Germain President also commented how he now believes PSG to be entering a new ‘era’ of the club and how the French winger ties directly into it:
“We are proud to have another French World Cup winner at Paris Saint-Germain as we enter a new exciting era for our club.”
Dembele’s departure becomes official after various discussions and disagreements between FC Barcelona and the player’s camp for the division of his transfer fee, but alas it seems a conclusion has been reached as the 26-year-old winger signs with PSG on a five-year deal until 2028.
