FC Barcelona have registered most of their new signings and recently renewed players ahead of the match against Getafe, but a few players remain to be registered. One such player who is still waiting for his recently renewed contract to be registered with La Liga is Marcos Alonso.
Marcos Alonso is one of the five players whose contract has not been registered with La Liga, and thus he would not be able to participate in the La Liga opener against Getafe. However, the defender has already renewed with the club for higher wages than what he signed with the club for.
While his lack of registration in this round raises doubts about his future at Barcelona, SPORT report that Alonso is not going to leave Barcelona. The situation about his contract registration has already been communicated to him, and Xavi counts on him for the next season despite rumors of him leaving the club.
Xavi particularly likes the Spaniard for his adaptability and the ability to play both as a left-back and a center-back. The Catalan club also values his efforts and sacrifices for Barcelona, as he joined the club on the last day of the last summer transfer window and gave up a huge amount of his wages that he was earning with Chelsea to join the Blaugranes.
The situation is not a pleasant one for Alonso, as he would have wished to participate in the opening match of the upcoming La Liga season. However, other players, like Kounde, also had to go through this last season.
While Alonso is being counted upon by Xavi and the club, it is also clear that no one at the club is non-transferable if a suitable offer comes for him. However, this has not been the case with Alonso, and his new contract will be registered in the coming days.
