As the 2022-23 season approaches its end, FC Barcelona would be focusing on engagements other than the official cup competitions. One of these engagements that the club has committed to undertake a part in is a friendly match with Vissel Kobe.

This event, scheduled to take place on 6th June, will definitely bring back old memories for Barcelona fans, as some of their biggest legends would be participating in the match.

Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets, the three components of FC Barcelona’s legendary squad’s midfield which conquered the world under Pep Guardiola, could all be involved in the match as per a report from Mundo Deportivo.

Ever since his exit from FC Barcelona, Andres Iniesta has been playing at Vissel Kobe, and he played an integral part in the negotiations between the two clubs for this friendly. He will be leaving the Japanese club at the end of the season.

Similarly, Sergio Busquets is also going to leave the Catalan club at the end of the current season, while Xavi has already hung up his boots and is now coaching the club.

However, Mundo Deportivo reports communication between Busquets and Iniesta, in which Iniesta shared his feelings of excitement at playing with Busquets once again. To this, the departing captain suggested that they should let the Barcelona head coach, Xavi Hernandez get on the pitch too, in order to recreate the legendary midfield fully once again.

While working on such a suggestion is still not finalized, nostalgic FC Barcelona fans will be hoping to see Busquets’ idea turn into reality for once. This would be a fitting tribute to both Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets, who are leaving their clubs at the end of this season, and this friendly could be their last match for their respective clubs.
