The delicate financial situation of Barcelona is not being helped by their results on the field. The Blaugranes are undoubtedly expected to be one of the top dogs in both Spain and Europe, but that has hardly been the case this season. As such, Barcelona may have to adopt some drastic measures.
Players that were previously considered as untouchables, can no longer be given the same status. Performances should translate to the status of players within Barcelona, and thus far, performances have been rather disappointing. Consequently, Barça has a few names that they could consider letting go of.
One such name is that of Raphinha, according to Spanish outlet SPORT. The Brazilian winger has hardly been convincing this season and has only managed two goals in 16 appearances across all competitions. While he has provided 6 assists, he is still far from the player that Barcelona expect him to be.
For this reason, Barcelona are now reportedly open to listening to offers for the 27-year-old winger. Two of the most notable interested parties are based in Saudi Arabia and the city of Manchester in England. The interest from the Middle East, at least to Barcelona, seems to be the more lucrative option.
The Brazilian winger continues to have suitors due to his time in England and even his solid performances as a Barcelona player at points. Clubs in Saudi Arabia are open to paying up grand amounts for the Brazilian, and Barcelona hope to recover the €58 million they spent on him.
As per SPORT, the club has put up a price tag of $100 million for the Brazilian winger. They are aware that this is a massive amount, but Barcelona hope to see what kind of bids materialize. Another option is to acknowledge the swap deal proposal from Manchester United.
Reportedly, United hope to conduct a swap deal with Barcelona involving their respective wingers. The English side are prepared to offer 23-year-old winger Jadon Sancho in exchange for Raphinha. Currently out of favor at United, the English winger is not involved at all with the team due to disciplinary reasons.
