Now that the international break is over, Barcelona can finally start to recover their players. Some key fixtures now await La Blaugrana, and they will need all their strength. Fortunately for Barcelona, their stars completely took over and shined during the international break.
One of them, young Lamine Yamal, was the star of the show for Spain against Brazil. All three of the goals that the Spanish team managed to score in that clash all came from a contribution from the 16-year-old Barcelona starlet. After the clash, the young prodigy even received a standing ovation from the Santiago Bernabeu.
As brought to light by Mundo Deportivo, the player was in an ecstatic mood after the game as well. Following the draw against one of the world’s finest national teams, the Barcelona prodigy believes his team can compete against anyone in the world: “We’ve shown that we can compete against any team.”
He also spoke about the external factors and how he does not let them impact his own game: “I try to play relaxed and not let outside influences affect me.”
Similarly, beyond just the praise of the people of the Santiago Bernabeu, as highlighted by Manu Amor, the Barcelona starlet also received words of praise from the Spanish National team’s head coach, Luis de la Fuente:
“Brilliant performance, but I like to be cautious, because I think it’s the best advice we can give him. He’s a very intelligent boy, he knows how to handle these situations. We ask him to continue being who he is, but always thinking that he has to put that talent at the service of everyone, as he does.”
Such words only further add to the already impressive cast of people who have said great words for young Yamal. Despite his age, he is already one of the faces of both Barcelona and Spain. With Spain also now destined for the Euros, he is expected to feature in that tournament of great importance to his country as well.
