Football is quite the political sport, and Barcelona understand this aspect to a great degree. The Catalan giants are also no slouches when it comes to deploying more unorthodox techniques to get what they want. Ultimately, however, not every target for Barcelona is as easy to get as the last one.

The signing of Vitor Roque, for instance, was one that Barcelona believed was in their favor. With the Brazilian himself being more than open to making the move, it was all a matter of time for La Blaugrana. On the other hand, another Brazilian target of theirs is proving to be a much more difficult acquisition.

Currently a player for Real Valladolid’s youth setup, Guilherme Ruck is a special 14-year-old talent from Brazil. An excellent midfielder, his decision making and ability to use his feet efficiently are both extraordinary for a player of his age.

However, just as he began to slip from Barça’s fingers, a helping hand has arrived. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, Vitor Roque and his entourage may have just given Barcelona a clever lifeline. As a gift, Ruck was sent a new Barcelona shirt with Vitor Roque’s name and signature on it.

As per MD, this was done through the agents of Vitor Roque. Upon receiving the shirt, Ruck even took to Instagram to thank his senior compatriot. This gesture could just go a long way, but for now, it seems to have been quite the clever step in the right direction.

For some time now, it had seemed that Real Madrid had taken the lead in Ruck’s operation. Willing to wait until the summer of 2024, Los Blancos were adamant to get him when his current obligation to Valladolid expires. This would allow him to come over to the ‘Merengues’ for little to no extra costs involved.

Manchester City and PSG, two of the world’s richest clubs, also seem keen on the player. However, at the moment at least, it seems that the player’s immediate future resides in Spain. Perhaps the Brazilian influence within Barcelona could help the Catalans turn the tides in their favor.
