Vitor Roque’s arrival at FC Barcelona is leading to a lot of excitement and expectations among the fans. The Brazilian had been one of the deadliest players in his native country in the last season.
Despite the injury that kept him from playing during the last few months at Athletico Paranaense, he was able to find the back of the net once again after returning to the team in December before departing for Barcelona.
While Roque has been training under Xavi Hernandez for some days now, he is yet to be officially presented before the fans. The Brazilian had arrived at Barcelona last Wednesady, 27th December.
Barcelona had scheduled his presentation, but the time or venue for this event had not been disclosed to the public.
Now, Mundo Deportivo claims that this presentation will be held this coming Friday, 5th January. Another option being considered by the club was to present the player on January 3rd, before the match against Las Palmas, but the Catalans do not want to mix the two events.
Meanwhile, Xavi is also considering adding Roque to the team that will travel to the Canary Islands to face Garcia Pimienta’s Las Palmas on 4th January. The fans have already seen Roque in Barcelona colours, as he was a part of the open training session held on 30th December.
Before this presentation, Roque will also be undertaking another very important social activity. The Brazilian, along with his teammates and the coaching staff, will visit the boys and girls admitted in different hospitals across Barcelona to support them and wish them well in their difficult time.
After this official presentation, it will not take long for Roque to showcase his skills on the pitch as Lewandowski has not been at his best this season, and Xavi has indicated that everyone will get chances on merit from now on.
